• A charger is a decorative under-plate: it stays on the table through the meal and the dinner plate sits on top of it. It is what makes a laid table look finished rather than bare.
• Sold as a single plate — buy exactly as many as your table seats.
• Glass gives a weight and a shine that acrylic cannot. It is the one for a dining table; acrylic is the one for a crowd.
• The widest band we stock — it holds its own under a gold-trimmed bone china service.

Hand wash only. A metallic rim is applied over the glaze and a dishwasher will dull it within a season.

• Wash in warm water with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
• Dry at once and store flat, with a napkin or felt pad between each plate.
• Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powder and bleach.
• Never microwave a plate with a metallic rim.
• Not for oven use, and not intended for direct contact with hot food.
